NOS CLASS Gaseous analgesic and anesthetic
NOS MECHANISM OF ACTION Affects central nervous system phospholipids
NOS INDICATIONS Moderate to severe pain, anxiety, apprehension
NOS CONTRAINDICATIONS Impaired LOC, head injury, decompression sickness, undiagnosed abdominal pain or marked distention, bowel obstruction, hypotension, shock, COPD, cyanosis, chest trauma with pneumothorax.
NOS ADVERSE REACTIONS Dizziness, apnea, cyanosis, N/V, malignant hypothermia, drowsiness, euphoria.
NOS NOTES ON ADMINISTRATION NOS increases the incidence of spontaneous abortion. NOS is ineffective in 20% of the population
NOS INCOMPATABILITIES/DRUG INTERACTIONS NONE
NOS DOSE/ROUTE, Adult and pediatric pt will inhale deeply through mask or mouth piece.
