TermDefinition
Rotation The spinning of a planet on its axis. One complete rotation is called a day
Revolution A year is the time it takes a planet to complete our revolution around the Sun
Revolve All of the planets orbit, or revolve, around the Sun in the same direction (counterclockwise)
Axis An imaginary line that passes through the center of a planet from pole to pole
Ellipse The shape that describes how the planets revolve around the sun; an oval shape
Gravity Force of attraction between all objects
Inertia The forward motion of an object, objects with more mass have more inertia
Orbit A regular, repeating path that an object in space follows around another object
Margi A person that has been putting cheese in her dinner
Solar System The Sun and all objects that are bound by gravitational force to the Son
AU One AU=150 Hundred Kilometers
Inner Planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars
Outer Planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
