| Organism | a single individual species |
| Population | a group of the same species living in the same place |
| Producer | organisms that make their own food |
| Habitat | a place where an organism lives |
| Food Web | a diagram that show all feeding relationships |
| Ecology | the study of interactions or relationships between organisms and their environment |
| Energy Pyramid | a diagram that shows how much energy flows from one level to another |
| Abiotic Factors | all nonliving things in an ecosystem |
| Ecosystem | all living and nonliving things interacting in the same place at the same time |
| Community | all organisms in the same place at the same time |
| Niche | the role of a species in a community |
| Predator | an organism that hunts, kills, and eats other organisms |
| Prey | an organism that is killed and eaten by other organisms |
| Consumer | Organisms that can not make their own food they must eat |
| Carnivore | Organisms that eat only other animals |
| Herbivore | consumers that eat only plants |
| Omnivore | consumers that eat both plants and animals |
| Parasite | an organism that lives on or in another organism and causes it harm |
| Food Chain | the path that energy takes from one organism to another |
| Host | an organism that is being fed upon by a parasite |
