| Crust | The outer layer of the earth, which is up to 40 miles deep. |
| Density | The degree of compactness of the substance. |

| Geological History | The science devoted to the study of the earth, practically the solid earth and the rocks that compose it. |
| Mantle | The region of the interior of the earth between the core and the crust. |
| Outer Core | Fluid layer about 2,300 km thick and composed of iron and nickel that he's above earth's solid inner core and below its mantle. |
| Relative Dating | Is the science of determining the relative order of the past events. |
| Rocks | The solid mineral forming part of the surface of the earth and other similar planets, exposed on the surface or underlying the soil or oceans. |
