stratus: "spread out." fog, drizzly, rain - low greyish clouds - colder months - low in sky latitude
How do clouds form? When water vapor travels up to the cold layer of air, it condensses and changes to a liquid collecting on dust particals.
How are clouds classified? by altetude. (how high in air)
How are clouds named? Shape and position in the sky.
Capacity: The amount of water the air can hold
absolute humidity: the actual amount of water in the air *the mass of water vapor in a cubic meter of air
relative humidity the amount of water in the air compared to its capacity. warm air = move water cold air = less water measured in percent
saturated air is filled to capacity with water. - 100% filled - after that precipitation occurs
