QuestionAnswer
consumer an organism, typically an animal, that feeds on other animals or plants. The consumer is part of the food chain and is studied in the science field known as ecology.
decomposer an organism, especially a soil bacterium, fungus, or invertebrate, that decomposes organic material.
shredder a person or thing that shreds.
dichotomous is constructed using contrasting characteristics to divide the organisms in the key into smaller and smaller groups; each time a choice is made, a number of organisms are eliminated.
pest an annoying or troublesome person, animal, or thing.
integrated pest management also known as integrated pest control (IPC) is a broad-based approach that integrates practices for economic control of pests. IPM aims to suppress pest populations below the economic injury level (EIL).
