two ways that animal cells get energy cellular respiration and fermentation
cellular respiration the process by which cells use oxygen to produce energy from food. Food is broken down into carbon dioxide and water and energy is released.
fermentation the breakdown of food without the use of oxygen
cell membrane in prokaryotic cells (single celled), cellular respiration happens here.
mitochondria in eukaryotic cells (multicellular) cellular respiration happens here.
