| Major Function of Circulatory System | To carry oxygen, carbon dioxide, food, waste, disease fighting cells, and hormones) through out the body. |
| Parts of the Blood | Platelets, plasma, red blood cells, hemoglobin, and white blood cells. |
| Platelets | Helps in blood clotting. |
| Plasma | liquid portion of blood |
| Red Blood Cells | Carry oxygen. |
| Hemoglobin | iron containing protein in red blood counts |
| White Blood Cells | Produce antibodies to fight infections. |
| Major Organs of Circulatory System | Heart, Artery, vein, and capillaries. |
| Heart | Pumps blood throughout the body; separated into four chambers (2 atria and 2 chambers). |
| Artery | Thickest blood vessel; carries oxygen rich blood AWAY from the heart. |
| Vein | contains valves to keep oxygen poor blood going in one direction TOWARDS the heart. |
| Capillary | Thinnest blood vessel; connects arteries to veins. |
| Circulatory systems and Other Systems | Works with all systems to move good and bad things through out the body via blood. Endocrine - the blood also transports hormones generated by endocrine system. |
