TermDefinition
consumer is an organism that feeds on plants or other animals for energy. There are four types of consumers; herbivores
decomposer is an organism that causes organic material to break down or decompose. A worm that causes compost to break down is an example of a decomposer.
shredder is a machine or other device for shredding something, especially documents.
dichotomous is constructed using contrasting characteristics to divide the organisms in the key into smaller and smaller groups; each time a choice is made, a number of organisms are eliminated.
pest is a destructive insect or other animal that attacks crops, food, livestock.
integrated pest management is a broad-based approach that integrates practices for economic control of pests. IPM aims to suppress pest populations below the economic injury level.
