Guidelines

QuestionAnswer
Guidelines for blurbs ( back of books) -blurbs should be very short &simple language. Keep sentences very short - you should use some persuasion to encourage them to read the book
Blurbs part 2 -never give clues as to how the story will end -what is left unsaid can be just as important as what is said &I can create a mystery to hook the reader
Brochures & flyers -use short para of no more than 3 sentences -build up details as you go along -use headings for the cover which is short ,snappy &hooks the reader use large writing
Brochures 2 -tell the reader everything that they need to know -speak directly to the reader -use "you" its the most important word in persuading
Brochures 3 Use bulleted lists they highlight important info -right in a conversational style
Informal letters -right your address top right (don't need there's) -personal/friendly tone find your voice -shoe interest ask questions
Informal 2 -para 1 what's going on with you (me) -para2 plans for the future -para3-ask questions but show your knowledge of the person Friendly sign off -best wishes love......
Formal -if you don't know the person start with dear sir /madam -when signing off use yours sincerely if you know them & yours faithfully if you don't
Formal 2 -Watch out for errors in punctuation when writing address -avoid slang , misspelling and inappropriate humour -if replying to ad state when &where you saw it
Articles -it must be factual -ingage the reader "you" -use rhetorical questions -"you must -find sulutions
