| Sublimation | the process of when a solid changes directly to a gas |
| Boiling | the process by which a liquid becomes a gas; bubbles are formed |
| Boiling Point | the temperature at which a substance changes from its liquid state to its gas state through boiling |
| Condensation | the process by which a gas changes its state to become a liquid |
| Physical Properties | characteristics of a substance that can be observed without changing the identity of a substance |
| Examples of Physical Properties | color, shape, size, texture, volume, and mass |
| Physical Changes | a change in any physical property of a substance |
