Virus a strand of hereditary material (DNA) surrounded by a protein coating.
Active viruses when a virus enters a host cell and immediately causes the cell to make new viruses and destroys the host cell.
Latent viruses when a virus enters a host cell and its hereditary material (DNA) becomes part of the host cell’s DNA.
