| unicellular | An organism made of only one cell. |
| multicellular | An organism made of many cells. |
| stimulus | Anything that causes a reaction or change in an organism. |
| response | How an organism reacts to a stimulus. |
| homeostasis | How an organism maintains a stable internal environment based on a changing environment. |
| asexual reproduction | An organism makes offspring by itself. |
| sexual reproduction | Two organisms combine DNA to produce offspring. |
| DNA | Deoxyribonucleic Acid. Blueprint of your cells. |
| heredity | describes how our traits are passed from parents to offspring. |
| metabolism | The total of all of the chemical activities that the organism performs. |
| growth | An increase in size or mass |
| development | How an organism changes as it grows |
