Waves

Light wave and other waves vocab

QuestionAnswer
Crest The top of a wave
Trough The bottom of a wave
Wavelength The length of a wave
Frequency The amount of waves that pass a point in a given amount of time
Amplitude The distance between a waves mid-point and its crest or trough
Transverse Wave A wave in which the crests and troughs move at right angles to the direction of the waves travel
Light Energy you can see
Reflection The bending of light waves as it enters a new substance
Refraction The bending of light rays as it enters a new medium
Color Spectrum The colors spectrum is just all the colors we see, or ROYGBIV
ROYGBIV The colors of the rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Vilot
