Light Waves

TermDefinition
Crest The highest point of the wave.
Trough The lowest point of the wave
Wavelength The distance between two points (measured at the bottom)
Frequency The numbered of waves that pass a point in a given amount of time
Amplitude The distance between a waves mid-point and it crest or trough
Transverse Wave A wave in which the crest or trough move at a right angles to the direction of the waves travel
