Atom the smallest unit of an element that has the properties of that element
Molecule two or more atoms that are held together by chemical bonds
Element a substance made of one kind of atom
Diatomic Element an element that exists in nature as two atoms bonded together
Compound two or more different kinds of atoms chemically bonded together
Pure Substance a substance made up of only one type of particle
homogeneouss a mixture in which the molecules of the substances in the mixture are evenly spread out
heterogeneous a mixture in which the molecules of the substances in the mixture are NOT evenly spread out
