Striated Muscle A muscle that appears banded; also called a skeletal muscle
Smooth Muscle Involuntary muscle found inside many internal organs of the body
Cardiac Muscle Muscle tissue found only in the heart
Involuntary Muscle A muscle that is not under conscious control
Voluntary Muscle A muscle that is under conscious control
Ligament Strong connective tissue that holds bones together in movable joints
Tendon Strong connective tissue that attaches muscle to bone
Cartilage A connective tissue that is more flexible than bone & protects the ends of bone & keeps them from rubbing together
Red Marrow Produces mot of the body's cells
Yellow Muscle Stores fat that can serve as an energy reserve
