| Term | Definition |

| Weight | The pull of gravity on an object. |
| Mass | The amount of stuff inside an object |
| Matter | Anything that has mass and volume |
| Volume | The amount of space an object occupies |
| Electron | Particle orbiting around the nucleus with a negative charge. |
| Density | How much matter in a specific amount of space. Measured in cm3. |
| Buoyancy | The resistance to sink. Ability to stay on top of the water. |
| Graduated Cylinder | Scale used to measure Volume. Usually a glass cylinder with measurements in mL |
| Nucleus | The Center of an atom |
| Liquid | Mass and volume stay the same, but shape changes. |
| Metals | Elements with similar properties |
| Atom | Smallest unit of an element |
| Property | Things we can measure |
| Particle | A name we give to things in science |
| Molecules | Two or more atoms joined together |
