Term | Definition |

Weight | The pull of gravity on an object. |
Mass | The amount of stuff inside an object |
Matter | Anything that has mass and volume |
Volume | The amount of space an object occupies |
Electron | Particle orbiting around the nucleus with a negative charge. |
Density | How much matter in a specific amount of space. Measured in cm3. |
Buoyancy | The resistance to sink. Ability to stay on top of the water. |
Graduated Cylinder | Scale used to measure Volume. Usually a glass cylinder with measurements in mL |
Nucleus | The Center of an atom |
Liquid | Mass and volume stay the same, but shape changes. |
Metals | Elements with similar properties |
Atom | Smallest unit of an element |

Particle | A name we give to things in science |
Molecules | Two or more atoms joined together |
