Physical Properties

texture the appearance and feel of an object, like smooth or bumpy
luster how shiny a substance is
malleability the ability to be rolled or pounded into a different shapes
solubility the ability of a substance to dissolve in another substance
hardness the resistance of a substance to being scratched
volume the amount of space an object takes up
matter anything that has mass and takes up space
melting point the temperature when a substance melts and turns to liquid
freezing point the temperature at which a liquid changes to a solid
physical change changes the physical properties of the substance
physical property a property that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of the substance
electrical conductivity how well an electric current moves in a substance
thermal conductivity how well a substance heats up
