Volcanos Is a week spot in the crust where molten material or magma comes to the surface
Lava The hot foild that comes out of a volcano.
Magma Is molten rock.
Ring of fire Formed by the many volcanoes that rim the pacific ocean.
Hot Spot is an area where material from deep within the mantle rises and then melts forming magma.
Shield Volcano Gently sloping mountain formed by repeated lava flows.
Composite Volcanoes Mountain formed by lava flows alternating with explosive eruptions.
Cinder Cone Volcano Cone-shaped mountain formed from ash, cinders, and bombs.
Sill Forms when magma forces itself across rock layer and hardened.
Dike A long wall or embankment built to prevent flooding from the sea.
Batholith Forms Smaller bodies of hardened magma can form dome. mountains
Lava Plateau High level area formed by repeated lava flows.
Extinc Hasn't erupted in 1,000 of years.
Dormant Has erupted in about 2 years but could one day.
Active Has been erupted often.
Element Is a substance that cannot be broke down into other substance.
Viscosity Is the resistance of a liquid to flowing.
Sillica A compound made up of particles of the elements oxygen and silicon.
Pahoehoe Is fast-moving, hot lava that has low viscosity.
AA Is lava that is cooler and slower-moving. It has higher viscosity than pahoehoe.
Compound Is a substance made of two or more elements that have been chemically combined.
Volcanic ash Used refer as a explosion erupts.
Magma Chamber Inside a volcano magma collects in a pocket.
Crater A blow-shaped area around a volcano's central vent.
Vent There the magma leaves the volcano thought an opening.
Pipe A long tube that connects the magma chamber to earths surface.
Caldera Formed by the collapse of a volcano after an explosion it sometimes fills with water and forms a lake.
Hot spring Island of an american state that formed from hot spots in the pacific ocean.
Geyser A location on the earths surface that releases heat and pressure by blowing out hot water and steam.
