What is a mineral? What are the three ways minerals can form? A mineral is a naturally-occurring inorganic, solid substance. It can form from the cooling and crystallization of magma, precipitation from a supersaturated solution, and evaporation of a supersaturated solution.

What color is olivine? Name a state in which the beaches can be composed of eroded olivine. Green and Hawaii
What are sediments? Pieces of solid material deposited on Earth's surface
Name the types of sediments. (in order from least to greatest) Silt, Clay, Sand, Pebbles, Gravel
Describe the process of weathering Big pieces of of rock are broken down into smaller pieces
Describe eroding Sediments are removed to another location
What do most Sedimentary rocks contain Fossils
How do Metamorphic rocks form? When high temperatures and pressure combine to alter the texture, mineralogy (chemical composition of a rock), without melting it
Provide an example of a Metamorphic rock Marble
