TermDefinition
Microsoft Access A database creation and management program
Database A collection of data that is stored in a computer system, which allows their users to enter, access, and analyze their data quickly and easily
Table Is composed of horizontal rows and vertical columns, with small rectangles called cells in the places where rows and columns intersect. In Access, rows and columns are referred to as records and fields
Record Is a unit of information it has its own ID number and within a table, each ID number is unique to its record referring to all of the information within that record, though the ID number for a record cannot be changed
Form Is a database object that you can use to create a user interface for a database application
Query Is a database object that creates a datasheet of specified records from one or more tables
Primary Key Is a field or set of fields with values that are unique throughout a table and values of the key can be used to refer to entire records, because each record has a different value for the key.
Datasheet View It displays online data arranged in rows and columns in a web browser and it can also allow data edits or not, as you prefer
Design View It allows you to work with the underlying structure of your tables, queries, forms, and reports
Null This represents an unknown or a missing value. It is important to understand that a null value does not mean a zero of a text string of one or more blank spaces
Field is the basic unit of data entry in a record
