Why is it important for scientist to use the scientific method? - easy to follow -organized -record data for accuracy
Problem/question: F. Does fertilizer help plants grow?
Observation/research A. I know plants need sunlight and water to grow.
Hypothesis B. I think adding plant fertilizer to the soil will help the plants grow.
Experiment E. I gathered 2 plants in pots with soil, and a bag of fertilizer. Then I placed fertilizer in one pot and placed both plants in the sunlight. I watered each plant once a day and recording the growth of each plant every morning.
Results After 5 days, the plant with fertilizer grew 1 inch! The plant without fertilizer grew 1/4 of an inch.
Conclustion My hypothesis was correct! Adding fertilizer to the soil helps a plant grow.
