Alkali Earth Metal the elements in group 2 (column 2)
Transition Element the elements in groups 3-12 (columns 3-12)
Nonmetal elements that have no metallic properties
Halogen An element in group 17 (column 17)
Noble Gas the elements in group 18 (column 18)
Metalloid Element that has physical and chemical properties of both metals and nonmetals
Semiconductor conducts electricity at high temperatures, but not at low temperatures
