| Parasitisum | A relationship between two species in which one species the parasite, benefits from the other species, the host which is harmed. |
| Competition | Ecological relationship in which two or more organisms depended on the same limited resources. |
| Photosynthesis | The process by which plants, algae, and some bacteria use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to make food. |
| Chlorphyll | A green pigment that captures light energy for photosynthesis. |
| Cellular Resperation | The process by which cells use oxygen to produce energy. |
| Predator | An organism that kills and eats all or part of another organism. |
| Prey | An organism that is killed and eaten by another organism. |
| Symbiosis | A relationship in which two different organisms live in close association with each other. |
| Mutualism | A relationship between two species in which both species benefit. |
| Commensalism | A relationship between two organisms in which one organism benefits and the other one is unaffected. |
| Ecology | The study of the interactions of living organisms with one another and with their environment. |
| Community | All of the populations of species that live in the same habitat as each other. |
| Biotic Factor | An environment factor that is associated with or results form the activities of living organisms. |
| Ecosystem | A community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. |
| Abiotic Factor | A environment factor that is not associated with the activities of the living organisms. |
| Habitat | The place where an organism usually lives. |
| Populations | A group of organisms of the same species that live in a specific geographic area. |
| Niche | The role of a species in its community including its habitat relationships with other species. |
| Species | A group of organisms that are closely related and can mate to produce fertile offspring. |
| Producer | An organism that can make its own food by using energy from its surroundings. |
| Carnivore | An organism that eats animals. |
| Decomposer | An organism that gets energy by breaking down the remains of dead organisms or animal's waste. |
| Consumer | An organism that eats other organisms or organic matter. |
| Food Chain | The pathway of energy transfers through the various stages as a result of the feeding patterns of a series of organisms. |
| Herbivore | An organism that eats only plants. |
| Food Web | A diagram that shows the feeding relationship between organisms in an ecosystem. |
