Cell Theory and Organells

TermDefinition
Cells -the smallest unit that is capable of performing life functions
Cell Theory -all living things are made up of cells cells are the smallest working unit of all living things all cells from preexisting cells through cell division
Prokaryotic Cells -cells that do not have a nucleus
Cell membrane (B) -outer membrane of the cell
Cell Wall (P) -is a rigid later of nonliving material that surrounds plant cells
Nucleus(B) -is a large, oval structure that acts as the "brain" of the cell
Nuclear Membrane(B) -membrane surrounding the nucleus
Chromosomes / chromatin (B) -made of DNA
Nucleolus(B) -located in the nucleus
