| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| trite | Boring because it is overused; not fresh or original. Example: The saying, "green like grass," is trite because it is overused and not creative. |
| impaired | Being in a less than perfect condition. Example: I got hearing aides because my hearing was impaired and I couldn't hear my teacher. |
| generic | Having no particularly distinctive or noteworthy quality. Example: I wanted a new dress to wear to the school dance, but when I went to the store they all looked plain and generic. |
| pert | Offensively bold; saucy Example: A pert answer will not be liked by your parents when they ask where you have been. |
| accusation | The act of charging someone with wrongdoing or accusing someone of doing something wrong. Example: I was blamed for throwing food at lunch. I was upset by this incorrect accusation. |
| incredibly | Unbelievably Example: My friend is such an incredibly good singer that people pay her to sing at their parties. |
