VOLCANO vent in the earths crust through which molten rock flows through.
CINDER CONE small , steep sided volcano that erupts gas rich , basaltic lava
COMPOSITE VOLCANO large, steep sided volcano that results from explosive eruptions along convergent plate boundaries.
SHIELD VOLCANO large volcano with gentle sloping sides, normally located along divergent plate boundaries and oceanic hot spots
HOT SPOT volcano that is not associated with a plate boudary
LAVA molten rock that erupts onto earths surface
MAGMA molten rock below earths surface
VISCOSITY liquids ability to flow
VOLCANIC ASH tiny particles of pulverized volcanic rock and glass
VOLCANIC ARC curved line if volcanic islands that forms parallel to a plate boundary
