Identifying Variable
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Treatment Group | the group to which everything is standard |
| Control Group | the group(s) being tested with the independent variable |
| Variable | something that changes |
| Constants | all other variables that are not allowed to change during an experiment |
| Independent Variable | what you change on purpose in your experiment |
| Dependent Variable | the variable that responds (what you measure at the end) |
| Repeated Trials | the number of times the experiment is repeated |
| Problem | identify the problem (step one of scientific method) |
| Research | Do research (step two of scientific method) |
| Hypothesis | Write your hypothesis (step three of scientific method) |
| Analysis | Analyze data (step five of scientific method) |
| Experiment | Design and do your experiment (step four of scientific method) |
| Conclusion | Draw a conclusion (step six of scientific method) |
