| prime meridian | imaginary line representing 0 degree longitude runs from north pole through Greenwich England to south pole |

| contour line | connects points of equal elevation |
| frequency | the amount of wave crests that pass a given amount of time |
| latitude | distance in degrees north and south of the equator |
| contour interval | difference in elevation between two side-by-side contour lines on a topographic map |
| electromagnetic spectrum | all types of electromagnetic radiation arranged by wave length and frequency. |
