atom The smallest particle of an element that has the properties of the element.
compound a substance made up of atoms of more than one element.
electron particle in an atom that has a negative electrical charge.
element a substance that cannot be broken down into other substances by heat, light, or electricity.
neutron Particle in an atom that has no charge.
proton particle in an atom that has a positive electrical charge.
saturated combined with or containing all the solute that can be dissolved without changing the temperature.
concentrated having a large amount of solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent.
dilute having little solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent.
