| Gallbladder | Organ responsible for the storage of bile. |
| Bile | Yellow green bitter fluid that is produced in the body to help in the digestion of fats. |
| Amylase | Digestive enzyme produced by the pancreas that is responsible for the breakdown of carbs and starch into simple sugars. |
| Pyrosis | Heartburn |
| Asorption | Process by which digested food nutrients move thru the villi and reach the bloodstream. |
| Chyme | Food and digestive juices mixed in the stomach and small intestine. |
| Villi | Microscopic projections of the mucosa of the small intestine that is responsible for asorption of nutrients into the bloodstream. |
| Rugae | Deep folds within the stomach that expand to hold food. |
| Peristalsis | Contractions of smooth muscle og the GI tract that cause wave like movement that propels or moves food through GI tract |
| Nausea | Qeasy feeling. |
| Anorexia | Loss of appetite. |
| Stomach | Pouch that prepares food for asorption by churning and secreting hydrochloric acid and pepsin. |
| Mastication | The process which includes tearing, crushing and grinding of food. |
