nucleus the center of an atom, made up of protons and neutrons
proton particles in an atom with one unit of positive electric charge
atomic number the number of protons in an atom
neutrons particles in an atom with no electric charge. They are neutral
electrons particles in an atom with a negative electric charge
molecules particles made up of more than one atom joined together
periodic table a table that arranges and shows all of the known elements
particles the parts in an atom: proton, neutron, electron
