Term | Definition |

Pupil | The dark circular opening in the center of the iris; contracts and expands to regulate the amount of light entering the eye. |
Iris | The colored part around the pupil of the eye; made of a series of circular muscles that constrict to make the pupil smaller in bright light or larger in dim light. |
Sclera | The tough white or bluish white covering that surrounds the eyeball and helps it maintain its shape. |
Cornea | The curved, transparent, outer surface of the eyeball; covers the iris and pupil and lets light through to the inside of the eye. |
Blood Vessels | Any of the vessels, as arteries, veins, or capillaries, through which the blood circulates. |
Eyelids | The movable lid of skin that serves to cover and uncover the eyeball |
Eyelashes | Short, thick, curved hairs growing as a fringe on the edge of an eyelid |
Association | The connection or relation of ideas, feelings, sensations, etc.; correlation of elements of perception, reasoning, or the like. |
Mnemonic Device | A strategy, such as a phrase or formula, that increases the effectiveness of memory. |
