Tech 8: Week 14

Hydraulic Operated or moved by means of liquid under pressure
Pneumatic Operated or moved by means of air under pressure
Pascal's Law Pressure applied anywhere to a body of fluid causes a force to be transmitted equally in all directions
Compression A force that squeezes a material
Tension A force that stretches an object
Torsion A force that twists an object
Shear A pair of forces that act on an object in opposite directions (cutting with scissors)
