| Energy pyramid | A diagram showing the amount of energy moving through feeding levels in a food web |
| Primary producer | The first organism in a food chain or energy pyramid. Usually a plant |
| Primary consumer | The second organism in a food chain or energy pyramid. Usually a herbivore |
| Secondary consumer | The third organism in a food chain or energy pyramid. Usually a carnivore |
| Tertiary consumer | The fourth organism in a food chain or energy pyramid. Usually a top predator (omnivore) |
| Top predator | The top organism in a food chain or energy pyramid. Always a omnviore |
| Photosynthesis | A process that plants make their own food (glucose) from sunlight |
| Respiration | A process that plants break down their food (sugars) |
| Transpiration | A process that plants get rid of excess water through their stomata |
| Consumer | An organanism that feeds off of other organisms |
| Producer | An organism that makes its own food |
| Herbivore | An organism that eats plants only |
| Carnivore | An organism that eats meat only |
| Omnivore | An organism that eats everything (meat & plants) |
