| INDICATIONS | Most oral poisonings and medication overdoses; Can be used after evacuation of poisons. |
| CONTRAINDICATIONS | Oral administration to comatose patients. After ingestion of corrosives, caustics, or petroleum distillates. Simultaneous administration with other oral drugs. |
| ADVERSE REACTIONS | May induce N/V. May cause constipation and black stools. |
| NOTES ON ADMINISTRATION | Often used in conjunction with magnesium citrate. Will not adsorb cyanide, lithium, iron, lead, or arsenic. |
