Tissues and Homeostasis
Term | Definition |

Epithelial Tissue | Tissue that lines the interior and exterior body surface . (Located: lining of digestive system, certain glands) |
Connective Tissue | Tissues that provides support for the body and connects its parts. (Located: under skin, surrounding organs, blood, bones) |
Nervous Tissue | Receives and transmits nerve impulses. (Located: brain, spinal cord, and nerves) |
Muscle Tissue | Tissue that aids in voluntary and involuntary movements. (Located: skeletal muscles, muscles surrounding digestive tract and blood vessels, the heart) |
Homeostasis | Relatively constant internal physical and chemical conditions that organisms maintain despite changes in internal and external environments. |
Feedback Inhibition | (negative feedback). A stimulus produces a response that opposes the original stimulus. |
