Hot Spot A location where a column of extremely hot mantle plume rises through the asthenosphere
Tectonic Plate Are giant sections of Lithosphere on Earths surface
Vent Opening of a volcano
Deformation The process by which rock becomes deformed and changes shape due to stress
Focus A place within Earth along a fault at which the first motion of an Earthquake occurs
Epicenter Directly above the focus on Earths surface
Tectonic Plate Boundary Where two or more tectonic plates meet
Volcano Any place where gas, ash, or melted rock come out of the ground
Magma Melted Rock
Lava Magma that has reached Earths surface
