Erosion, & Deposition

Glaciers Slow moving rivers of ice
Humid Damp; high amount of water held in the air (chemical weathering)
Hydration Occurs when certain minerals are dissolved by water ( chemical weathering
Meanders Bends or curves in a stream or river
moraine Piles of sediment that are left by the front of a glacier as it receds
Oxidation Breakdown of rocks by chemical reactions of the rock with oxygen ; rust ( chemical weathering)
Parallel/scratches Created when a glacier scrapes over the rocks below it acting like a giant piece of sandpaper
Physical weathering Breakdown of rocks into smaller pieces without a change in rock type
Soil Composed of weathered rock particles and organic matter; sustains plant growth
