| eukaryotic | a cell containing a membrane- enclosed nucleus and oranelles |
| prokaryotic | a cell lacking a nucleus or any other membrane-enclosed organelles |
| unicellular | an organism made up of one single cell |
| multicellular | an organism made up of more than one cell, and often made up of different types of cells |
| classification | the process of grouping things based on similarities |
| taxonomy | the branch of science that formally names and classifies organisms by their structure function and relationship |
| domain | the highest and largest rank of grouping organisms three groups archaea, bacteria, and eukarya |
| domain bacteria | prokaryotic,single-celled organism that lacks a nucleus in its cell |
| domain archaea | prokaryotic,single-celled organism that lacks a nucleus in its cell and can live in extreme environment |
| domain eukarya | organism with cells that contain a nucleus |
| kingdom | a taxonomic rank below domain 6: animalia,fungi , plantae, protista , archaea, and eubacteria |
| autotroph | an organism that is able to make its own food;known as a producer in food chain |
| heterotroph | an organism that CANNOT make it its own food ; known as a consumer in the food chain |
| asexual | a method of reproduction that requires both male and female parent 50% from 1 parent 50% from 1 parent |
| cell theory | state that all living organisms are made up of 1 or more cells; cells are basic unit of life and all cell come from other cells |
| kingdom archeabacteria | unicellular, asexual, auto and heterotroph , prokaryotic organism that live in extrmeme enviroments |
| kingdom eubacteria | unicellular , asexual, auto and heterotroph , prokaryotic organism that live in |
| kingdom protista | uni- and multicellular sexual or a sexual auto- and heterotroph eukaryotic organism that are microscopic |
| kingdom fungi | uni - and multicellular sexual or a sexual, heterotrophic, eukaryotic organism; known as a decomposer in the food chain |
| kingdom plantae | multicellular, sexual and asexual, autotrophs, eukaryotic organism; known as a producer in the food chain |
| kingdom animilia | multicellular, sexual and a sexual, heterotroph, eukaryotic organism; known as a consumer in the food chain |
