TermDefinition
Cell Is the basic unit of structure and function in a living thing.
Cell Membrane Forms the outside boundary of the cell.
Nucleus Is the control center that directs the cell’s activities.
Cytoplasm Clear, jelly like substance containing lots of organelles.
Tissue Is a group of similar cells that perform the same function.
Muscle Tissue Can contract, or shorten.
Nervous Tissue Directs and connects the muscle tissue process.
Connective Tissue Give support to your body and connects it all.
Epithelial Tissue The surface of your body.
Organ A structure that is made up of a bunch of tissues.
Organ System A group of organs that work together.
Homeostasis The body's tendency to keep an internal balance.
Stress Your reaction to potentially threatening or challenging events.
