| Natural Selection | process by which organisms that that are better suited to a particular environment are better able to survive and repreduce than organisms that are not |
| Nocturnal | animal behavior characterized by activity during the night and sleep during the day |
| Survival | continuing to live or exist, typically in spite of difficult circumstances |
| Terrestrial | pertaining to, consisting of, or representing the Earth is distinct from other planets |
