Respiratory System

Cardiovascular System Consists of the heart and three types of blood vessels that carry blood throughout your heart.
The Blood Vessels- Arteries, Capillaries, and veins carry blood pumped by the heart.
Cardiac Muscle Your heart is an organ made mostly of cardiac muscle tissue.
Arteries blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart and to the body’s organs.
Capillaries tiny blood vessels that allow the exchange between body cells and blood.
Veins are blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart.
Pulmonary Circulation Flow of blood from the heart through the pulmonary arteries, capillaries and veins.
Systematic Circulation Flow of blood from the heart to all parts of the body back to the heart.
Atheroclerosis This is a major cays if heart diseases.
High Blood Pressure Hypertension is normally high blood pressure. The higher the blood pressure the greater risk of having a heart attack, heart failure, kidney disease and stroke.
Blood Connective Tissue that carries gases nutrients and wastes through the body.
Plasma Fluid part of the blood. Mixture of water, minerals, nutrients, sugars, proteins and other substances.
Platelets Pieces of larger cells found in bone marrow.
White Blood Cells Help keep you healthy by destroying platelets. .
White Blood Cells Helps keep you helathy by destroying body cells that have been damaged or died.
True Your blood helps regulate your body tempeture.
Blood Pressure The force experted by blood on the inside on the inside walls of arteries.
Blood Types This refers to the type of antigens you have on the surface of your Red Blood Cells.
Tranfussion The injection of blood or blood componets into a person to replace blood that has been lost.
Blood Types important consideration of blood tranfussion.
Type A can only receive Type A,O
Type A can only donate to Type A, AB
Type B can only receive Type BO
Type B can only donate to Type B, AB
Type AB can receive ALL
Type AB can only donate to AB only
Type O can only receive Type O
Type O can only donate to ALL
Respiration Process by which a body gets and uses oxygen and releases carbon dioxide and water.
Celluar Respiration Involves Chemical Reactions that release energy from the food.
