What are kingdoms? Scientists divide all living things into groups. They are large groups that have similar characteristics.
How many kingdoms are there? 6
Name the kingdoms Animal, plant, fungi, protist, arcaea, bacteria
List examples that you would find in the fungi kingdom? Mushroom, yeast, mold
Which kingdoms are made of mostly microscopic organisms and are mostly single-celled? protist, arcaea. bacteria
Describe bacteria -Simplest form of life - One-cell with no nucleus -Are producers, consumers. and decomposers
How can bacteria be helpful? Breakdown dead organisms, breakdown waste materials, clean up oil spills, and convert nitrogen
How can bacteria be harmful? Cause diseases in humans, plants and animals.
Describe protists Cells with nucleus, most diverse. plantlike (plankton), animal-like (protozoa), fungus like (slime mold), and are producers. consumers, and decomposers
Which kingdoms do not have a nucleus? Bacteria and Archaea
What does a cilia do? It helps the protist move and eat
