Why do we have wind? because of differences in air pressure
Why are there different air pressures? unequal heating of the Earth
If the air pressure is greater what will that tell you about the wind? the wind moves faster
What is the air like at the equator? very little wind
What is the air like at the poles? very fast winds
Does wind flow high to low, or low to high high to low
What causes wind to travel in a curved path? the Coriolis Effect
What is the Coriolis Effect? the curving of moving objects by Earth's Rotation
What are the causes of the Coriolis Effect? the Earth's Rotation
Where are the trade winds? 30 degrees to the equator both North and South
Why are they called this? because traders would use them to sail from Europe to America
Where and what are the Westerlies? wind belts 30 degrees to 60 degrees in both the North and South
Why are they called this? it would sail the sailors west
