solid Has a definite volume or shape. Particles vibrate, do not move past each other
liquid Has a definite volume, but not shape. Particles move by gliding past each other.
gas Has no definite shape or volume.Can be squeezed into a smaller volume
plasma Conducts electricity.occurs with high electric charge
melting point the point in which solids melt. or liquid becomes solid
evaporation when liquid becomes gas
condensation when gas becomes a liquid
boiling point the temperature where evaporation occurs
mixture two or more substances that mix but keep their own identity
solution A mixture where the substance spreads out evenly and will not settle
solute the substance being dissolved
solvent what the substance is dissolved in
solubility a way to measure how much of a material dissolves into another
