Erosion transport of soil or sediment from one location to another
Glacier A large mass of moving ice
Ocean Current A movement of ocean water that follows a regular pattern
Climate The average weather conditions in an area over a long period of time
El Nino Warming of the Pacific Ocean resulting in a change in weather patterns
Global Warming A gradual increase in average global temperature
Renewable Resource A resource that can be replaced at the same rate at which it is consumed
Nonrenewable Resource A resource that forms at a rate that is slower that it is consumed
Destructive Process Breaking down the land
Constructive Process Building up the land
Greenhouse Effect Warming of the Earth's atmosphere
Recycling Recovering and reusing items
Reclamation Returning land to its original condition after mining is completed
Mudslide The flow of mud or rock and soil mixed with a large amount of water
Deforestation The removal of plants and trees
Microclimate The climate of a small area
Latitude The distance north or south from the equator
Fossil Fuel Formed from the remains of organisms that lived long ago
Watershed The area of land that is drained by a water system
