TermDefinition
Photosynthesis The process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water.
Autotroph An organism that is able to form nutritional organic substances from simple inorganic substances such as carbon dioxide.
Heteratroph An organism deriving its nutritional requirements from complex organic substances.
Chlorophyll Chlorophyll is the green pigment, inside of the leaves of the plant. That is why are plants all have the pigment green.
Producer A plant can make its own food using the process, Phototsynthesis. They use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water, so that they can create sugar to survive.
Consumer An animal that lives off of other orgainsums, so that they can create engergy for them.
Herbavorie A herbavorive is an animal, that lives off of plants only.
Carnavorie A carnavorie is an animals, that lives off of meat only.
Omnivorie A omnivorie is an animal, that lives off of both plants and animals.
Scavanger A scavenger is an animal, that eats dead or rotting body to survive.
Decomposer A decomposer is an animals, that uses rotting flesh to survive,
FoodChain A foodchain is a chart that shows what aniaml eats what,
FoodWeb A foodweb is a chart that has several foodchains on in.
Enerygy pyrimid An energy pyrimid, looses energy as you go up into the pyrimid.
Evaporation Evaporation is a process in the water cycle that make the water evaporate into the sky.
Condensation Condensation is a process after evaporation that hold water in the sky to create rain.
Precipitation Precepiaation is after step 1 and 2 of the water cycle it rains and the cycle repeats its self.
