| Constructive Force | Shape the lands surface by building up landmasses |
| Destructive Force | Destroy or wear away landmasses by processes like erosion and weathering |

| Direct Evidence | Rock samples |
| Indirect Evidence | Seismic Waves |
| Seimic Waves | Produced by earthquakes |
| Pressure | Force pressing on an area |
| Crust | Layer of solid rock that includes both dry land and ocean floor |
| Basalt | Oceanic crust, dark, fine-grained |
| Granite | Continental crust, light, coarse-grained |
| Mantle | Very hot but solid |
| Lithosphere | Rigid uppermost layer of Mantle |
| Asthenosphere | Less rigid, below Lithosphere |
| Mesosphere | More rigid, below Asthenosphere |
| Outer Core | Molten metal, liquid layer, iron+nickel |
| Inner Core | Dense ball, solid metal |
